No, Lift UP is a partner of, but different from, the Oregon Food Bank.
A food bank is a nonprofit organization operated by the state that stores millions of pounds of food and distributes it to local food programs, like food pantries. The food gathered by food banks is donated by local community members, retailers, grocery stores, farmers, and restaurants.
A food pantry is a small-scale nonprofit food distribution center where low-income community members can access free, donated food. Our free food pantry is supplied with food from generous donors and the Oregon Food Bank, allowing us to provide meals to hundreds of people each week!
