This is a great time to get on board with Lift Urban Portland,
as we continue to help the members of our Northwest & Downtown Portland community.
We have a new grant-funded program focusing on health & wellness to help seniors age in place. Volunteers help create, teach & assist with classes in a variety of areas:
- Other health-related areas are needed.
Training is provided. Contact Bethany@LiftUrbanPortland.org to learn about current training opportunities including leading Walk with Ease and Matter of Balance programs.
Servers: 10 am-1 pm, any weekday
Flexible commitment level, minimum of one shift per month
Scheduler: 1-2 hrs per week
Oversees the scheduling of other servers, ensuring that necessary shifts are covered.
Regular and On-call Volunteers are needed:
Tues & Fri, 9:30 am-2:30 pm (partial shifts available)
Thurs, 1:30-3:30 pm (stocking and cleaning)
Fri, 10-11 am (unload food order)
Oversee food pantry operations.
Pantry tasks may include:
Unloading food, stocking shelves, serving customers, preparing food boxes & cleaning. Volunteers should be able to lift/move heavy bags & climb stairs.

Regular Volunteers are needed:
Thurs, 8-9 am - Pickup at Franz Bakery, NE 11th Ave
Tues and/or Fri, 9:30 am-1:30 pm - Home delivery
Tasks may include:
Food pick up, drop off and deliveries - critical to stocking the Food Pantry and the Backpack Program!
You may use your own vehicle, or drive the Lift UP van if you are 25 years or older and pass a DMV check.
Volunteers are needed to provide one-time or recurring help. These community service opportunities include cleaning, shopping, organizing, moving and friendly visiting. Volunteers must pass a background check
We need you to help plan our community outreach events and interact with neighbors at concerts, festivals, farmers' markets, churches and synagogues. If you like to take photos, bring your camera!
You could also be perfect for developing promotions and enhancing our social media presence.
