Adopt-a-Highrise

Lift Urban Portland is looking for volunteers to host a game night, serve a spaghetti dinner, teach a craft class, or coordinate some other activity that promotes education or community connections.

The member congregations of Lift Urban Portland "adopt" apartment buildings that have many elders, persons with disabilities, and people with limited incomes. Volunteers host group activities, which are an important part of building community and individual relationships.

Here are a few volunteer needs:

Adopt-a-Highrise (Group Activities) Coordinator: Organize and distribute information about upcoming volunteer opportunities, and help recruit volunteers.

When: Flexible

General Adopt-a-Highrise Volunteer: Help out as a member of a team as your congregation hosts community events and serves neighbors in a low-income building through the Adopt-A-Highrise program.

When: Flexible

These types of events can also be organized by individuals, as a class project, or by a team from a local business. Please contact our Volunteer Program Manager for details:
