Harvest Share (free produce distribution)
2nd Wednesday of each month, 10:00 am - 10:30 am.  Lottery for spot in line begins at 9:00 am.

Pantry recipients must be within eligible income guidelines (Maximum $1607 per month for a one-person household as of January 2009) and live at a Northwest Portland address, or in the triangle bounded by West Burnside, SW 10th & SW Taylor. They may visit our choice-based pantry once a month and select from canned goods, and categories of pasta, meats, and produce.

Research shows that food pantries that use a choice model cost less to run, meet hunger needs better and more efficiently, respect recipients’ individuality, preserve their dignity, and gives them more food choices. No one is turned away the first time he or she requests assistance.

Harvest Share income and geographic eligibility differ from our Food Pantry requirements.

  • In partnership with Lift Urban Portland, five low-income high rise buildings in the area offer an on-site “end of the month mini-pantry” when the need is greatest. Residents can select a few items from a mini-pantry to tide them over until they can get a full box from our pantry, get a box delivered if eligible, or until the first of the month when they receive funds.
  • Based on the motto of “waste not, want not” our Community Share program helps get perishable items distributed at various locations in the area. We give bread, pastries, fruits, vegetables and other items weekly to individuals, low-income residences, and a variety of community-based programs.

The pantry is served by TriMet lines #15, 18, 20, and 77.
Also the North/South line of the Portland Streetcar.
